In simple terms: these materials concern third-party software included with RootsLanding. RootsLanding's proprietary application code is not made open source by the licenses listed here.

Qt and PySide6 6.11.1 source
RootsLanding 0.2.2.0 uses the LGPL-3.0-only option for the separately shipped PySide6, Shiboken6, and Qt libraries. No RootsLanding modification to their source was identified for this release.
FFmpeg source and build record
RootsLanding invokes a separate BtbN Windows x64 LGPL shared build: n8.1.2-34-g9b6c8969e0-20260731, release autobuild-2026-07-31-14-10. The source archive used by the build record has SHA-256 c222a490dde4e7059f45495deef6bfb98dbcacc2b43df5b607546252037aa95c.
Library replacement and relinking
The Qt/PySide6 libraries are separate files in the RootsLanding package. Microsoft Store signing and package content enforcement mean they cannot simply be overwritten in an installed Store package while retaining Microsoft's signature.
A technically identified pathway is to unpack the Store-upload package, substitute interface-compatible rebuilt Qt/PySide6 libraries at the corresponding paths, repack it, self-sign it with an appropriately matching certificate, trust that certificate on the test computer, and sideload the modified package. RootsLanding has not yet completed an end-to-end test of that workflow with a modified Qt/PySide6 build, and does not represent it as tested.

RootsLanding will provide the preserved release-specific materials available for exercising applicable open-source license rights. Modified builds are unsupported and should not be used with irreplaceable family material.
Limited open-source rights exception
RootsLanding's Supplemental Open-Source License Terms preserve reverse engineering, modification, and related acts only to the extent necessary to debug modifications to LGPL-covered libraries or exercise rights expressly granted by an applicable open-source license. They do not grant a general right to reverse engineer RootsLanding's proprietary code.
