Request removal of an intimate image shared without consent

Please provide a URL and a brief description only. Do not download, copy, upload, or email suspected child exploitation material. Do not include images, attachments, passwords, codewords, or unnecessary sensitive details. If someone is in immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services. This form is not an emergency service.

Use the address of the hosted page. Query parameters and fragments are removed to avoid collecting access tokens.

Remove an intimate image shared without consent

If an intimate photo, video, or qualifying digital forgery of you was shared on a RootsLanding-hosted website without your consent, you or someone authorized to act for you can request removal. You do not need a RootsLanding account or to own the copyright.

Email copyright@rootslanding.com with a written removal request containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of your authorized representative.
  2. The hosted URL and enough information to identify and locate the intimate image or video of you.
  3. A brief statement that you believe in good faith that it was shared without your consent, with any relevant details.
  4. Contact information so we can respond to you or your authorized representative.

For a valid removal request under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, we remove the depiction as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receipt, and make reasonable efforts within that period to identify and remove known identical copies. You do not need to locate every copy. We may preserve restricted records or evidence where required by law.

Do not attach images or videos, send codewords, or download suspected child exploitation material. You can also use the report form on this page to flag a safety concern; a general report does not need to meet the requirements of a statutory removal request.
