Published Content Policy

Your local Digital Family Home and source files belong to you and remain under your control. This policy applies only to material hosted or made publicly accessible through RootsLanding online publishing. It does not apply to family material kept privately on your computer.

What cannot be published

You must have the rights and permissions needed to publish. RootsLanding-hosted material must not include or facilitate:

• Child sexual exploitation or abuse, sexualization or exploitation of minors, grooming, sextortion, or trafficking of children.
• Pornography or sexually explicit content, or intimate imagery shared without the depicted person's consent.
• Credible threats, unlawful violence, or serious unlawful harassment.
• Unlawful or rights-violating disclosure of highly sensitive personal information, such as identity documents, financial account details, or private information that creates a serious safety risk.
• Infringement of copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
• Malware, phishing, fraud, spam, malicious code, unauthorized access, or technical abuse of RootsLanding or other services.
• Human trafficking, serious unlawful activity, or other content illegal to host or distribute.

Ordinary family disagreements, embarrassment, or material someone merely finds offensive are not automatic violations. A real rights, privacy, safety, provider, or legal concern may still require action.

Reporting and review

Use Report content to provide the hosted URL, category, and a short explanation. An email address is optional. Do not send attachments, copies of suspected illegal material, passwords, or unnecessary personal information. A report is a request for review, not proof of a violation.

RootsLanding LLC may review reported hosted material and restrict, suspend, or disable public access for this policy, applicable law, Microsoft Store requirements, hosting-provider requests or requirements, or serious safety and compliance concerns. Urgent restrictions may occur before notice. We may seek more information and restore access after review when appropriate. We do not provide continuous monitoring. For ordinary policy reports, we do not promise a fixed response time. Applicable legal deadlines still apply.

Suspending hosting does not delete or alter your local Digital Family Home or source files. Hosted service data may be preserved for review, disputes, security, or legal obligations. Restrictions concern optional hosting; they do not themselves revoke Microsoft Store software entitlement.

Send copyright notices and counter-notices to copyright@rootslanding.com. Our Copyright notices page provides the designated agent contact details and requirements.

To ask us to review a restriction or a rights concern, contact contact@rootslanding.com with the hosted URL and a brief explanation, without attachments. We may restrict or end hosting for repeat intellectual-property infringement in appropriate circumstances. See the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services. This reporting form is not an emergency service.
